I read this book to review it for booksneeze.com. This is a Triple Threat Novel. Triple Threat is a “club” of three women who’s lives are interwoven by their careers – federal prosecutor, FBI agent, and journalist. Face of Betrayal follows the case of a missing teenager who was involved with a US Senator.
This is a book for fans of John Grisham or Kathy Reichs. It’s a thriller, and does get to be a “page-turner” at times. I thought the main characters were a little stereo-typed – dealing with all of the “women issues” like pregnancy, single-parenthood, abuse. The women each have different religious views – Christian, atheist, and kind of New-Agey. I think they could have had some more original situations, but maybe women want to read about these things. This book probably wouldn’t appeal to guys, but I think women will enjoy it if they like other political thrillers.
Overall, I enjoyed it, but it’s not the kind of book that I tell all my friends they have to read.

This is the latest book about child-rearing from expert John Rosemond, who has a refreshing view that we need to get back to the basics – back to rearing our children the way our grandparents did.

Rosemond spends a great deal of the book focusing on why we should get back to the old ways and how to do that. He does give very practical discipline techniques, but rightly teaches that it’s the manner in which you implement them that will determine your success.

I was a little disappointed that it was geared for ages 3-12 and did not specify that on the cover… That said, the advice has already come in handy with my 2 year old. The most important parts are applicable to all ages, the specific discipline techiniques are not.

One bothersome thing was one of his methods has you lying to your child. Rosemond says that because it is for the good of your child it’s no more “lying” than telling them that the tooth-fairy exists. Not so sure on that. But really, this was a small part in a book full of good.

I have already recommended this book to friends. I know that it will be useful in the years to come and I plan on reading it with my husband when our kids get a little bit older.
